The pictogram signs designed by Sato are used in all locations of THE TOKYO TOILET. They were designed in accordance with the JIS standard, and in addition to being highly visible, the corners were rounded to create a softer impression for the users.

Train station toilets have a reputation for being dark and dirty – but this couldn’t be further from the truth! Once again, "THE TOKYO TOILET” project proves the opposite. Have you ever seen such a beautiful and aesthetic public toilet?

It is located on the square in front of the busy, bustling west exit of Tokyo’s JR Ebisu station, where huge numbers of people pass through each day. Renowned creator Kashiwa Sato designed the "pure white toilet" to meet the "natural" requirements of public toilets: cleanliness, safety and harmony – the very things that unfortunately often come up short. We also installed our products in these special locations to provide added hygiene and comfort.

In the spirit of diversity, men and women share all of the stalls here. The door signs can help visitors find the stall best designed in line with their individual needs and possibilities. All the large toilets are equipped with bidets, some with urinals, others with facilities for stoma patients and still others with toddler toilets.
